Here In Worcester we are quite lucky as we have a DVSA Test Centre in the Warndon area. This means that we can keep the costs on your test day to a minimum.
The current rate is £100.00 This allows you an hour warm up drive beforehand, and the hire of the car for your test for 40-45 minutes and returning you home, usually a total of 2.5 hours in all.
The cost of the test itself is £62.00 for weekdays which you pay to the DVSA when you book your test of which the driving school gets none.
In summing up the day will cost you a total of £162.00, so as you can see it is wise to know that you are totally ready for a test. Take your instructors advice on your readiness.
